Business Process Reengineering In
Business Process Reengineering (BPR) a 'holistic' approach is employed
that combines people, process and technology to achieve breakthroughs
in business performance. Typically, such assignments involve a radical
redesign of business processes, which in turn may require restructuring
the organization, upgrading information systems, as well as, a shift
in corporate values and mindsets. A complete package is provided
that includes measurable results and thorough knowledge transfer.
The emphasis is to implement efficient processes that can lead to
streamlined business operations.
Our approach for reassessing, realigning and reengineering business
processes is based on the tools and techniques of Focused Quality
Management (FQM). The reason - tightly focusing on quality initiatives
produces desired business results. As a basis for our approach,
we use a three-tier Activity Matrix that serves as a guiding principle
and backbone for implementing change management. This activity matrix
revolves around three fundamental components - people, processes
and technology - and these are reassessed across a three-tier change
spectrum - refine, redesign, and reengineer. This approach helps
assess which specific components of a business process need to change
and the extent of change required in each one of them.
